The 1st Battalion Irish Guards are busy swapping their desert kit for ceremonial dress. Despite only just returning from Afghanistan, they are already deep into rehearsals for their role as the Queen's Escort at the Royal Wedding. The Irish Guards have spent their tour mentoring the Afghan National Army so they have had limited time to prepare. The regiment of which Prince William is Colonel will provide the Queen's Guard at Buckingham Palace, St James's Palace and the Tower of London on the big day.
