- Solitaire City (Mac Version) - Golf Solitaire Longplay - Rule 3: Deal 6 Columns of 6 -

Golf, a widely enjoyed solitaire card game, involves dealing seven columns of overlapping cards resembling a golf course layout. The goal is to transfer all cards to a foundation pile by sequentially arranging them upwards or downwards, regardless of suit, following the mechanics similar to traditional solitaire.

The name "Golf" comes from the game's objective of "scoring" low, much like in the sport, where lower scores are preferable. It is played with four variations (called "rules"): Rule 1 - Deal 7 Columns of 5; Rule 2 - 7 Columns, No Turning Corners; Rule 3 - Deal 6 Columns of 6; Rule 4 - 6 Columns, No Turning Corners.

In Rule 3, at the game's outset, the play area receives 6 columns, each containing 6 cards. Additionally, a card is automatically dealt from the stock to establish the waste pile. This adjustment notably heightens the game's difficulty, occurring approximately once every 15 games, as indicated in the official game description.

While this solitaire game remains easy to grasp initially, the challenge escalates significantly. Fewer columns containing more cards complicate matters, and the inability to choose the starting card for the waste pile means relying heavily on luck, hoping for favorable card arrangements.

Despite the ability to build on a King, success demands significant patience. Many games might seem unwinnable from the outset, prompting early abandonment due to their difficulty.
