Sonic 3 | New Game+ (Glitchless) Speedrun in 25:19 [RTA-TB] (Former World Record)
0I figured it was about time to really get the flow back into running my all time favorite Sonic game. Goes back to 2018 when I was just doing New Game Plus runs for fun, never thought there would be a leaderboard for the game let alone a category for NG+, until a year later one was finally made and that right there definitely had interest going for me again.
- Notes on the run -
This believe it or not is the first time I'm using an autosplitter, I think the main reason why I've never used it in previous Sonic runs is cause it would slow down OBS while recording runs back when I was using just a laptop.
Anyways, Angel Island & Hydrocity were pretty good. Marble Garden actually can take a faster route with an upper hidden area after grabbing the first giant ring, tried it in a practice run and got it after a few attempts. Carnival Night wasn't too bad, act 2 however could have its improvements. Aside Ice Cap being fairly good, Launch Base act 1 has 1 specific section I definitely could optimize. For act 2 itself, well, the one thing that I felt like I hated the most was the Big Arms battle. Right as I think I'm about to get the right hit once he stops, I end up getting in the big arms, which felt like it costed some time there. I think for the most part, the run went pretty solid. One day though, the sub 25 minute barrier will be broken. Confident in knowing it's possible. 🔥
