High Speed Challenge

You've likely already seen the High Speed Challenge 2 in Speed Highway; this is the first one, set in Green Hill. Like the one in Speed Highway, Speed Shoes monitors are sprinkled all over this stage, and while it's not particularly dangerous, the stage is designed for the longer leaps Sonic can do with the Speed Shoes on and the shortcuts he can take with it.

For Green Hill, this mission is somewhat hard to S-Rank, probably because there are some alternate paths stuck in that require precision platforming at speeds granted only by the Speed Shoes. The first case is after Sonic hits the Motobug to get to the platform above: There's a long gap with collapsing platforms afterward, which can only be reached by getting the Speed Shoes monitor right before it. Another example is a yellow spring I miss later on...which leads Sonic to a path full of more deviously-spaced collapsing platforms.

The music sounds kind of weird with all these Speed Shoes monitors, huh?

Incidentally, this completes Green Hill.
