Power Stomp Challenge
The Power Stomp is a skill you earn by finishing this challenge: As you may have figured, the Power Stomp is a more powerful version of Sonic's regular stomp move. The Power Stomp creates a blue shockwave around Sonic that will defeat enemies it hits as well as break boxes and other things that might be affected by Sonic's spin jump attack. He has it always equipped in this challenge and is, well, the game's way of introducing the ability to you.
As a result, this challenge is actually on the merciful side. I messed up many times along the way but got the S-Rank time anyway. Particularly annoying was when I was cautiously waiting for a flamethrower to flare up, only to decide it's worth going forward when the flamethrower activated anyway.
The last part, with the balloon bunches, is really not as hard as it looks. All of the balloons will take Sonic where he needs to go next; it's simply a matter of waiting until Sonic is at the apex of his leap up, then proceeding forward. I don't know what this has to do with Power Stomp though; it feels like a harder version of Balloon Bonanza in Sky Sanctuary.
