Now that the first 3 stages have been cleared,Challenge Act Gates appear above the stages. In order to face the boss of this area,you must complete at least 1 of the challenges,which unlocks the Boss Gate Key for that zone. Collect all 3,and you'll be able to face the boss. Also,there's a Rival waiting to battle Classic Sonic around the Chemical plant Zone,it's none other than Metal Sonic! Created during Sonic CD by Dr.Robotnik,it was created to be an exact duplicate of Sonic,just as fast and just as powerful. You'll be running along a crumbling stage as you face him,wait for him to charge and just before he hits you,jump and you'll damage him. If he charges up a laser attack,slow down a bit,then dash forward,then you can hit him after he uses it. He may also throw debris at you,so vary your speed to dodge them. When he's near his last bit of health,he'll fly like crazy to try and hit you,he'll be vulnerable once his aura is gone. That should be the finishing blow,netting you your first Chaos Emerald! I'll be doing the rest of the Challenge Act Gates a bit later,just wanted to get the Boss Keys first.
