Sonic Movie Character Development - Shadow Day 050 - Skin Weights Wrapping Up
Finally getting to the real home stretch. Theres a gap in the sessions just because the same work of boring skin weighting was all I have been stuck on after two weeks out of town. 4 days later on skinning and finally wrapping the shoes. Its not great and Im tired so I have to move on. Not a rigger at all so it is what it is lol. Next up is a last polish smoothing pass then sending this join back to CC4 and back into unreal to start setting up physics bones and constraints for the springs. They were such as hassle but maybe someone out there appreciates the detail lol.
If you are a CC4 user you may wanna follow this whole process just to keep up with some success stories, missteps and backtracks. There will be plenty of mistakes made I assure you, but the point is taking advantage of these pre-rigged humanoids, putting your own new bones and appendages on them and still retaining CC4s built in facial rigging if you are like me, a character modeler/texturer with no animation chops whatsoever. Come along for the journey, this mess is finna be wild!
