Today was the very last of the fur look edits. Crazy CC4 has some issue recognizing how close hairs are to the lips and in sonic characters cases those lips are huge and the catch radius too big. Spent all session trying to figure out a safe distance yet add some more hairs closer to the lips to try and get rid of this ugly nude lip skin halo you can see where the fur ends and the underskin starts. I did the best I could with the time I had. Time to move on. Next up is getting the new spring bones in place and then remapping the temporarily applied body and head hair to the finalized body once all the skin weights are cleaned up. I expect the facial morphs to mangle some in the process so that step may be an in between before the final.

If you are a CC4 user you may wanna follow this whole process just to keep up with some success stories, missteps and backtracks. There will be plenty of mistakes made I assure you, but the point is taking advantage of these pre-rigged humanoids, putting your own new bones and appendages on them and still retaining CC4s built in facial rigging if you are like me, a character modeler/texturer with no animation chops whatsoever.
