In this long play, I complete soul blazer on the original SNES cartridge without dying or using magic, except for the last boss where the phoenix spell required. I take the time to clear out all the enemy nests and free all the trapped creatures and various sentient objects in each area of the game. I have also gathered all inventory items, including all swords, magic spells, and armor, throughout the playthrough. Some inventory items were cannibalized to get additional items such as the eight master emblems for the magic bell or the child’s pass for the recovery sword in Grass Valley. I complete the final battle at level 24, which is the lowest level possible since you need to be at this level to swing the soul blade to use the phoenix magic against the last boss. I would say that I did not use any medical herbs during this run but that would not be entirely true. While I did avoid using the herbs by losing all my hit points, you automatically use an herb to refill hit points when you find one after already carrying one in your inventory.


Before the final confrontation I took some time to show the locations of passed over and permanently supplied medical herbs found in the areas for viewer information.
