Everspace is a roguelike space exploration style game, with combat simulator elements, following in the footsteps of games like Freelancer, or Darkstar One. This run uses the default Interceptor ship.
Originally I purchased Everspace on sale a while ago, played it for a bit, but did not feel I had enough time then to sink into it. It then sat amongst many such games in my library until recently I saw announcements about their work on a sequel, and realised I really needed to give it a proper go.
10 minutes played quickly became 50 hours, and we have been steadily levelling up our pilot and starting ship to be able to get through more runs more quickly and max out on some of the unlocks. In this series I will play through most of a run, but stop just short of the end sector. There should not be much in the way of spoilers for those who want to enjoy the story, but really it is the gorgeous scenery, great soundtrack, and engaging gameplay loop that you play this game for, not the plot that only really exists as an excuse to hold things together.
