Will Tom Holland Still Be Spider Man AFTER Spider Man No Way Home?! + New Trilogy Announcement
So, today we got a lot of updates regarding Spider Man No Way Home, and believe me, it’s a lot bigger than just tickets selling out already. Today we were given an announcement as to whether or not Tom Holland still has a future as Spider Man after No Way Home. Stay with me.
So, the way we got to this point has got everything to do with the fact that Tom Holland recently has been eluding a great deal about potentially not returning to play spider man, saying how No Way Home will feel like an end of an era, how the movie will be a book-end, how if he’s still playing spider man after turning 30, then something is seriously wrong. Mind you, he’s 25 years old, so, you can imagine how we might be concerned. Also things about how he doesn’t need anymore money, how he thinks Marvel and Sony should move forward with a Miles Morales trilogy and sideline Tom’s Spider Man completely - which I think Miles Morales is a great addition and should get his own trilogy, but still Tom is causing a lot of concern as to whether or not our Peter will make it out alive.
Fortunately, Amy Pascal, who is Sony’s president, gave a little light on the situation by saying that Sony is planning to, yes, have No Way Home be an end-of-an-era and book-end the homecoming trilogy, but also have tom return for another three MCU-integrated Spider Man movies, which means that we can be concerned for Peter’s well-being in like 5-6 years time when the whole new trilogy ends. However, for now, we will still be getting a lot more of Tom Holland’s spider man. I remember a while back hearing about how Sony wanted to develop three movies of Tom Holland’s spider man in high school, kickstarting the homecoming - no way home trilogy and then after that was over, start a whole new sequel trilogy that picks up a story of Peter while in college and take the story from there which could see the new trilogy adapt Parker Industries from the comics, which is basically the stark industries of spider man comics and here’s how they could introduce it into the MCU that way - we all remember this building that has replaced avengers tower right? Well, we can likely presume that it’s the baxter building, the fantastic four’s HQ and here’s why: in the comics, Parker Industries is head-upped from the inside of the Baxter Building and seeing as how the building is first introduced in a spider man film, and even the evolution of the building has been documented between both spidey films, it just makes sense for the next few movies to explore what that building has to offer for Peter Parker
It does seem that this upcoming No Way Home film will be introducing a lot of villains, but it leaves room for the sequel trilogy to still explore the Harry Osborn of this universe and his descent into goblin villany, the sequel trilogy better, at some point, see Ned don the hobgoblin suit as well as introducing Black Cat into the fold who is like an anti-hero, catwoman type- but mostly it would be cool to see Tom Holland’s peter face off against the likes of Kraven The Hunter, and finally paying off that scorpion tease from homecoming as well as giving us a venom vs spider man movie, so there’s still lots more to explore in a sequel trilogy. What do you want to see in Tom Holland’s next trilogy?
