Splatoon 2: Close call in League Splat Zones [13(2)-7, Dapple Dualies Nouveau]
I'm not wasting ink having it fall down the grate, I'm inking the wall. It's good preparation for popping up on one of the N-ZAP '83s to splat them. I work my way around the back and ink from behind, my squidmates having splatted the rest of the pinklings and captured the Splat Zones, so my inking is making it awkward for their return. I get back to the ledge and wait for the inevitable return of an inkling, but somehow get my angles wrong on approaching the Dynamo Roller behind them.
I head back along the blind corridor, which works out well as the pinklings capture the Splat Zones, keeping my approach less noticeable. Chucking Toxic Mist over the ledge rather ruins the surprise, but I sensibly hold back to avoid a silly splat, and to recover ink, and even use a dodge-roll to thwart the counter-attack. I'm able to re-capture the Splat Zones and start to work on inking the flank again, getting another nice dodge-rolling splat as a pinkling comes my way.
I get ahead of the Splat Zones and start causing some disruption, but despite my isolated dodge-roll successes, I'm still not that adept at using them to avoid trouble. Mind you, perhaps being caught in so much crossfire has something to do with it too. I take a more direct route back to the Splat Zones, getting myself inkier and inkier from an Ink Storm as I have no idea how to dodge-roll out of it, but thankfully no pinklings are around to capitalise. I push forwards and try my luck on a B-bomber's armour, and although they splat me, I splat them too on landing. I'm okay with a draw.
My squidmates are doing well, making super-jumping back a good option, and I do really well in destroying a few Sprinklers. I bet I could go against a whole team of Sprinklers and maybe only get splatted a few times. I make a quick circuit around the back, finding another Sprinkler that has no idea who lethal I am, but as more pink ink flies in, I can't quite get to safety in time to launch an Ink Storm, and the Splat Zones turn pink again. Our lead is healthy, though, so I'm not worried yet.
I jump to my League squidmate, and chuck some Toxic Mist and spray some ink around, charging my Ink Storm again nice and quickly. I let that loose, before sneaking up on an N-ZAP '83. I try my luck against the retreating Dynamo Roller, but the height difference thwarts me. Trying to return to the Splat Zones has pink ink lapping at my heels, and dodge-rolling in to a wall kinda doesn't work too well.
Heading back on the open side somehow lets me ambush a pinkling looking the other way, before dropping down to ink the Splat Zones. I chase what I think is a pinkling but may have been my League squidmate, so I just splat another Sprinkler and launch a new Ink Storm, before heading up to the blind corridor to bag a couple of quick splats. Even with that brace of splats, the splat Zones turn pink, so I turn my attention that way, and all is green again, right up until I walk straight towards the Dynamo Roller in mid-flick posture.
My League squidmate gets in to a safe-ish position for a super-jump, letting me land safely. It makes my rather reckless foray in to the Splat Zones questionable, particularly as the pink team are close to stealing the lead from us right at the end of the battle, but thankfully my squidmates are on top of the situation. It was close though. Woomy!
