Splatoon 2: More targeted sloshing in Tigerfest 0x10 [14(5)-6, Kensa Sloshing Machine]
I've swapped the green bucket for the Kensa machine for a bit of variety. I still don't have the hang of Fizzy Bombs, which will become bleeding obvious, but I'll get there. I really like the Sloshing Machine's arc, I have to say, and once I remember what its range is I'll be dangerous! Until then, I'm just throwing ink ever so slightly short. The green team's first push falls short as I'm finding my feet, and we recover the Rainmaker to move it forwards. I duck in to the ink as my Splashdown charges to find someone to super-jump to, but there's nowhere to make a splash, so I head to go across the bridge, jinking back to intercept the Inkbrush going for our Rainmaker.
The Rainmaker is dropped, with instant revenge, and I hang back a little to contest the Rainmaker once the green team pick it up. I get a Splashdown splat, but with the Machine not quite reaching across the gap I decide to find a way to get closer. I think it works, but my squidmates are getting the splats before I can do much, leaving me chasing a rapidly retreating Octobrush. Wait, was that squiddo with the Octobrush?! Can't be.
I let the Octobrush get away and turn my attention back to the Rainmaker, letting a squidmate grab it so that I can use my Splashdown, not that it helps too much if I run away from the action. Never mind, at least I find the Octobrush again. The green team picks up the Rainmaker and dashes around the side, but I'm just in time to intercept them and protect our lead, just before Viper's Splashdown hits me. The green team's bold move to then throw wave after wave of their own inklings at us doesn't quite work. It was worth a try.
We start moving the Rainmaker away from threatening our lead in the lull, and I do my bit by inking the central turf, right until I can't get away from a Sting Ray by squidding towards it. I'll file that away as things 'good to know'. The green team get another couple of attempts with the Rainmaker that don't go far, and rather than just shakily ink the edges of the Hotel I decide to take more direct action and head around the flank. I suppose that's not actually 'direct' action, but you know what I mean. I splat the pesky Jet Squelcher anyway.
After learning not to go one-on-one with the Bloblobber, I head back to the action, getting a splat with a Fizzy Bomb, and just about avoiding a Hammer. I move up to pressure the Rainmaker quite successfully, before turning that success around with a pointless Splashdown, followed by throwing a Fizzy Bomb at the Rainmaker shield that nearly splats me, and just about managing not to slide in to the water so that I am still around for the green Splashdown's landing. Textbook.
All that happens with little more than ten seconds to go, so all is well. My squidmates stop the green team from getting far with the Rainmaker, and I can even stop running in the last second. Woomy!
