Our move up to the Rainmaker works to our advantage, although the green Splattershot's decision to charge their Tenta Missiles scatters us well. Even so, a squidmate still beats the green team to the Rainmaker, and rather than follow directly, seeing a green inkling gunning for them, I duck out of sight to intercept their chase. That lets me see the Inkbrush approach too, my splat letting a super-jumping squidmate land.

Now to support the Rainmaker push! I'm a bit too far behind to do much, sadly, but I jink around to try to avoid attention, and activate my Splashdown in response to a green one. That generally doesn't protect me, but I do it anyway, and this time I am lucky enough to have enough height to survive. Nice! A double-splat on landing is an excellent result, but I can't move the Rainmaker too far before the other two inklings are back.

I can't work out if super-jumping back would be a good idea or not, so err on the side of caution. I do some tidying up, which takes me down the centre of the Skatepark. That makes me wonder if I can flank the green team, now with the Rainmaker. I can, but don't need to, as my squidmates have the splats under control. At least I protect our rear from the Splat Roller, thanks to another Splashdown, but, as is far too often the case, I rather under-estimate the extent of the Rainmaker shield's inksplosion.

It's time for a head-on approach with the Rainmaker coming our way. Or, at least, it would be, if my squidmates don't stop it with their ruthless efficiency. I poke my nose forwards anyway, before deciding flanking again is a better idea. It isn't, as it turns out, but it could have been. The green team encroach further on our turf, but my squidmates have it under control, and I'm there to help mop up. My target selection could be better, but thankfully so could the Splattershot's aim.

We burst the Rainmaker free, and as I have a Splashdown ready I leave it for a squidmate to grab, which they do. I get some height, which doesn't do me much good, and again thankfully survive an inkplosion beneath me by activating the Splashdown. A Hammer rages ahead of me as I get one splat from the Splashdown and a second from a Burst Bomb follow-up, and although I'm splatted our Roller clears the way ahead, and even leads the Rainmaker through the ink with their Hamster Balls. We still don't quite make the podium.

I super-jump back to a rather uncertain landing, inking my feet as I land with a Burst Bomb and jinking out of the way of danger. The Rainmaker is ready to burst, so I help that along and grab it once freed. A quick dash to the podium, and I, well, maybe don't quite get the dunk, but it's good enough for the victory. Woomy!
