Splatoon 2: One last push in Tigerfest Ecks 2 [8-6, Sorella Splat Brolly]
Tigerfest Ecks 2 is underway! Our first memeteam meeting is Brollies versus Nozzlenoses. It's hard to say who has the upper hand. At least I have some practice with a Brolly. There is much jostling around the Rainmaker to start with, as usual, and I sit back for the most part, only emboldened by a Splat Bomb Rush, which ultimately gets me splatted. The green team have captured a lot of turf, so I try to ink over that on my return, but as my squidmates make a dash with the Rainmaker I try to catch up, pushing ahead to try to flank the green team. I simply get surrounded instead.
The green team push back, and as Tenta Missiles fly in I briefly lose track of the Rainmaker, but pick it up heading down the left flank. They overrun my position, so I try to splat the support, but their Ink Armour, my ink usage, and their numbers all contribute to my getting splatted again. I get some height on my return, avoiding direct contact with the Rainmaker whilst the green team are still around, but that just lets Speed rush in an get a better lead. At least my intercepting move goes better this time, and a bit of defence helps us move away from our podium with a touch more confidence.
We get the Rainmaker past the half-way mark, but not much further, and we are all splatted pretty quickly at that point. Not even a Splat Bomb Rush helps, as I focus too much on the Rainmaker shield over my own safety. My swift return is thwarted by even more Tenta Missiles, but it causes a happy accident in that my evasion puts me right where the Rainmaker is trying to pass. I use my canopy to good effect, until I get stuck in ink and forget what I'm doing.
The turf is so messy it's hard to know quite what to do, so I just ink turf and head forwards to come around behind the green team. It's maybe good that I ignore where the Rainmaker is and who has it to some extent, as although I don't get any splats, including a sitter on Sci-Fi, I cause some disruption further up the turf. Maybe that helps my squidmates move the Rainmaker forwards a bit, and I return to help provide support at the rear, as the green team try a pincer movement against us.
The splats we get let us surge forwards, and a bit more caution and good inking helps us believe that we still have a chance of victory. I get some height, thanks to the sponge, and thanks to the Rainmaker being below me I am somehow kept from harm for long enough to get a Splat Bomb Rush going. Along with some good canopy use below me, the path for the Rainmaker is made clear, and in one fell swoop our squidmate delivers the Rainmaker to the podium, stealing the lead and claiming victory for the Brollies. Woomy!
