Earlier in this game's life, the Expansion Pass was release, and came in two separate parts, focusing on the previous hubs and hangouts of the first two games.

Of course, the first part of this game lets you visit or revisit Splatoon 1's Inkopolis Plaza, letting you go through its shop with new and old characters and even celebrate Splatfests there with the Squid Sisters Callie & Marie.

But what about the other part of Inkopolis: Inkopolis Square from Splatoon 2 where Off the Hook's Pearl & Marina represent?

Well... that's Part 2 of this Expansion Pass, and it seemingly starts out as a regular train trip to there like with the Plaza.

Your kid ends up nodding off during their trip, all while one of Off the Hook's theme plays. And suddenly...
-----------

You wake up... as Octo Expansion's Agent 8. Now with a new look, but lost in what looked to be white ruined remains of Inkopolis Square. Maybe...

After (re-)customizing your Agent 8, you see that they were woken up by Pearl... or at least a flying drone of her. She doesn't know how she ended up this way.

Pearl was looking for Marina, and figure out what she was a drone now. Both her and Agent 8 then heard Marina at the top of a peculiar tower... the Spire.

Pearl sensed that Marina was in danger, and needed Agent 8's help again to rescue her!
----------

Their first step inside of this tower brings them to the Foyer, where they are attacked by bizarre robot skeleton fish surrounded by black jelly. Pearl was able to summon some Splat Dualies to help Agent 8 fend against them.

After clearing out those monsters, Agent 8 & Pearl moved forward towards an elevator, and they were greeted by a particularly-familiar Octoling.

In Octo Expansion, this Octoling had the stage name "Dedf1sh", but it seems here that their real name is "Acht".

Aside from making music, Acht has history with Marina and knows how smart she is with Octoling technology. They were trying to climb the Spire to look for Marina, but those fish monster, that they call the "Jelletons", made it rough for them and even got one of their arms. So now, Acht wants Agent 8 & Pearl's help to climb the Spire in one piece and save Marina.

Problem is, the elevator their in only goes up by one floor at a time, and they can't keep going until they complete objectives on their current floor.
----------

To help them through this mess, Pearl is able to summon a palette for Agent 8 to use. You put Color Chips in the palette, and it boosts different stats for your Agent 8, as well as slightly changing their color, of course.

Acht gives you your first one, which increases your damage from a distance, but you will get more as you ascend through the floors.
----------

On 1F, with that distant damage-increasing Color Chip, you have to destroy a Portal. Be aware of the Jelletons that spawn from it. Very simple first mission, here.

For every floor you get, you'll get a new Color Chip to use on the next floor. Sometimes, it'll be more than one. This time, I get a Poison Ink chip.
----------

On 2F, you must now destroy three portals. It's here already that you encounter different kind of Jelletons, such as big ones that don't ink turf, but focus on ramming you down, instead. I get a Lucky Bomb Drop Color chip for this next.
----------

On 3F, you can find Canned Specials, which fill up 50% of you Special Gauge to help you unleash your Special Weapon on those Jelletons. Like 2F, 3F has you destroy 3 Jelleton portals.

Winning at this gave me TWO more Color Chips, this time.

Clearing a floor also gives you Membux, but it's not known what these are for, yet.
----------

I decide to take a break here.

Side Order does not completely do hard saves. You have to properly choose "Save and Suspend" to leave back into the main game, which will somehow have you main kid back in Splatville.

DO NOT try to turn off the game to quit Side Order, or you'll have to start it over.

There will still be more to show of this mode, but for now that's Part 1.

Stay tuned!
