Splatoon 3: Side Order: Part 5: Cycle 2-3 - 12F to Died at 13F to 17F (+ 1 Boss)
After another break, it was time to take Agent 8 further up the Spire.
...Or at least... try to.
Just after completing the first floor of this video, my poor Veemo perished at 13F.
Lives do not regenerate on their own even between floors! They can only be replenished at Vending Machines!
----------
So then, losing in Side Order gets Agent 8 kicked out of the Spire. You lose all of your collected Color Chips and Membux and will have to start from scratch.
Except, not all is truly lost. You Color Chips and Membux actually get converted into Prlz. You can use these to buy hacks from Marina where she installs permanent upgrades into Agent 8 and Pearl Drone.
If you were able to collect any Locker Keys before your fallout, you'll be able to use them on that huge locker storage, too. I had one that let me reach Big Man's Palette. Big Man seems to prefer using the Slosher. It is also here that Marina learns that Big Man and Ian BGM from the Squid Sisters' "Liquid Sunshine" are the same manta ray.
You will also get a new Palette if the locker door is glowing.
----------
Losing for the first time also unlocks more things Marina can do to help you.
First off, she can send you back where at the same floor where you died in any previous run through Side Order. However, the Prlz cost of this can be pretty expensive.
Second, Marina will often gain more hacks for you to buy from her. Do you save your Prlz for them, or do you want to spend them off on something now?
Ultimately, the more you lose, the more oppotunities you get to help you winn next time!
So for now, time for another tower trip! I am once again using Agent 4's Splattershot-based Palette.
----------
If you were able to reach 5F in your previous run, you are guranteed that one of your options for your next 5F will be a Vending-Machine Floor if you so choose to take it. You also get to start your climb with 500 Membux already to go.
----------
After a few more trials, tribulations, and terrible tentacles, I bring my Agent 8 back into 10F for a boss fight. Bosses are randomized, too, and it looks to be a shuffle between three regular ones.
This time, I fight a boss known as The Intensifying Harmony: Parallel Canon. It seems to be a player boss, like fighting enemy Octolings in Hero Mode.
All of the enemies in this boss fight seem to be Inklings and Octolings that lost their wills to Order, but look at the one that leads them... ESPECIALLY if you remember the last look you had of your Splatoon 2 squid kid...
THAT'S RIGHT! If you have save data of Splatoon 2, Splatoon 3 here will read it and copy your Agent 4's looks into the Parallel Canon leader. That said, this is very likely not Agent 4, themselves. I hope they're doing okay at this point in time...
This fight has you fight all of these Jellatinous squids and kids in waves. Just keep splatting them away before they can do the same to you, and you'll eventually win with a WIPEOUT!
For now, the climb continues...
----------
On the way towards 15F, the squid squad realizes that they are now halfway up towards the Spire.
Marina opens up and admits that she created the Memverse in a coping desire to create a world of perfect balance. It seems that she was grateful of Pearl's victory over her in Inkopolis Square's FinalFest, but deeper down inside, it left her distraught about not achieving that desired world of order where nothing had to change... Even Acht could relate to Marina about that...
Order, itself, managed to exploit this from Marina's mind and used it against her to corrupt and take over her Memverse.
Again, Marina didn't mean for things to happen like this, and Pearl knows and believes it for herself. All Pearl wanted to do now was team up with Agent 8 & Acht to help Marina save her own virtual world from Order's wrath.
----------
The last floor I take on for this video was 16F, which was a Danger Floor, triggering Arpeggio Barrage where it namesake Jelletons will constantly dive bomb at your during your objective. Puts more pressure on you between destroying those Portals and not letting Agent 8 bite the dust.
After this, another break...
