Splatoon 3: Side Order: Part 3: Cycle 1 - The TRUE Start, Off the Hook Reunited!
6After Agent 8 & the Pearl Drone were successfully able to rescue Marina from the Spire, a new dangerous force spawned from the machine Marina was stuck in and blasted them right out of the tower.
Agent 8 was knocked out, but was then woken up by Pearl & Marina. Pearl was back to her normal self, and both of them now donned their World Tour clothes. Somehow Marina was able to bring Pearl back to normal.

The reason Pearl became a drone, as well the reason for everything else going on with them, was because Marina triggered a "Dramatic Days in Orderland" module on her laptop.
They were all in a virtual reality Marina made called the Memverse. The only thing that is real in there right now are their own minds. Eventually, Marina got possesed by that Order cloud being, which caused Marina's Memverse to go out of control force countless more minds into the Memverse, including her old friend Acht.
Right now, Order desires to create a world of order. A world without color. A world where no one has any free will of their own. It is a process that it calls "Grayscaling". This Grayscaling will eventually affect the person's real self, as well, turning them into lifeless husks of their former selves.
She was really sorry for causing all of this trouble, but Pearl knows she didn't mean it. She was ready to team up with with her, Acht, and Agent 8 to stop Order!

Back in control of Agent 8, now knowing that the Memverse is a VR, Pearl chooses to switch back into her Drone form to continue helping Agent 8 out like she has been.
This video is focusing on the things you can do before you make for another tower climb.
According to Marina, Order has transformed the Spire into a taller, more threatening tower. As you ascend through its floors, the enemies will get tougher and tougher.
When you run out of lives, you get kicked out of the tower and will have to start it over from the beginning. Any and all Color Chips you had on you will be all gone, bringing your Agent 8 back down to their weakest capabilities.
However, to try and overcome this, Marina can hack the Memverse so she can give Agent 8 permanent upgrades and make it easier to climb the Spire. All Agent 8 has to do is give her enough Prlz to make it happen.
Getting kicked out of the Spire will actually convert all of your Color Chips and Membux into Prlz.
Basically, Side Order will now truly play like a Roguelike game, but this is a game where failure can still yield rewards! It encourages you to keep trying through your losses!
Spending Prlz will allow Marina to give you permanent upgrades such as additional max lives, max armor, and permanent upgrades for the Pearl Drone. I'd probably prioritize Max Lives over anything else.

You will also get new Palette, each based on a different character and comes with their own weapon sets, primarily whatever the main weapon is.
More Palettes can be found in the big locker near Marina, but you need Locker Keys to see what they are.
Marina gives you her Splat Brella-based Palette, but you can also get a Splattershot-based one that Agent 4 had in Locker 3.
There are other goodies to find in different lockers, such as a Dev Diary that Marina started. The first one is about her time with Pearl immediately after the end of Splatoon 2's massive FinalFest, as well as Marina helping to clean up the mess that was left behind after the events of Octo Expansion.

Just remember, different Palettes will prioritizes have often you get certain Color Chips, and also remember that Palettes cannot be swapped after entering Acht's elevator.
Whenever you're ready before that elevator, step back into the Foyer to try it out.
