Spyro DotD - Burned Lands in Under a Minute
14A quick demonstration of how broken Hyperspeed is in this game. It's not exactly perfect and could be improved, but it's still really fast nonetheless.
Hyperspeed is a frame perfect glitch that happens when a shield or a dodge gets cancelled on the very first frame by a cutscene or by switching dragons. This lets you get a TON of glitched air momentum, allowing things like this. To trigger it anywhere, you have to press Switch first, and then shield/dodge 8 or 9 frames later (I am not exactly sure since this is a variable framerate game). If the AI dragon stops moving and just can't walk to you, congrats, it has Hyperspeed. If the first dragon dodges, you are too early, and if only the second dragon dodges and the first can still move, you are too late.
Now, there are two versions of Hyperspeed : Attack Hyperspeed and Attackless Hyperspeed. Attackless Hyperspeed is the default one you get (except on Wii where you almost always get Attack Hyperspeed by default for some reason). As its name suggests, you can't attack or grab with Attackless Hyperspeed, but this can be fixed by grabbing an item (weight, key or bucket), grabbing some vines or running on a wall (wallrun), turning it into Attack Hyperspeed.
With Hyperspeed, you can do another glitch called Fury Fling. This happens when you trigger Fury while having a ton of air momentum, allowing you to clip inside walls. There are two methods for doing a Fury Fling, one is with Attack Hyperspeed, where you can just enter Fury Mode anytime while playing the glitched dragon. The other is when you have Attackless Hyperspeed. Since the game thinks you are still shielding/dodging, you can't enter Fury with the glitched dragon directly, so you have to hold both fury buttons, jump, buffer a switch and then fly, this will switch and enable fury on the first available frame, letting the AI dragon Fury Fling without losing its momentum.
