For full context on the 'PC Upgrade Side Quest' I ended up going on:

Originally I had planned to upgrade just the CPU, motherboard and RAM. I probably could've stuck with the original motherboard but I think I would've had to do a BIOS update (my B350 was an older one) and I don't trust myself to attempt that without bricking something. I ran into a problem trying to remove a cable from the old motherboard which led to me having to look into a new tower.

After having moved the parts into the new tower, I ran into a new problem with runaway heating. I put way too much faith in the stock Wraith Prism cooler, so I kinda had to look into an aftermarket cooler. This is probably why the 5700X3D does not come with its own stock cooler.

The cooler I ended up going with was the Phantom Spirit 120SE, mostly because it was cheap and seemed good enough. I then spent about two-ish weeks stress testing stuff to make sure the overheating problem was resolved, which now puts us in the present.

This upgrade also, quite ironically, should give me enough headroom to replay STALKER 2 on stream (Main channel is currently working its way through the original first run), which I will try at some point since I kind of wanted to go for the Ward ending.
