Star Fox 2 SNES Classic Amazing Reproduction Cart - Unreleased Starfox 2 Announced for SNES Mini
Star Fox announced for the SNES Mini! For the first time you will be able to play Star Fox 2 on the SNES Classic.
What we have here is a lovely reproduction cartridge containing the unreleased SNES game Star Fox 2. Who ever sacrificed a Super FX game to make this has done the SNES repro community proud - Beautiful Star Fox 2 artwork on the box and manual, with Fox McCloud and all the Star Fox team present and correct. Although this is just the Star Fox 2 SNES classic rom on a different game's cart, this is a properly professional repro job.
Is Star Fox 2 better than Star Fox 64 (Lylat wars here in the UK)? Hmm, undecided. It's definitely amazing for the Super Nintendo! Now you can play Star Fox 2 on the SNES Classic / SNES Mini we'll see much more gamer experiencing the cancelled Star Fox 2.
I say in the video that you need the SNES Super FX-2 chip to make Star Fox 2 work. From further investigation, the FX 1 will work, but you'll have a lower frame rate than using the FX2. So that means all those SNES copies of Stunt Race FX are not going to waste by being a terrible game. But of course you don't need to worry if you're planning on playing Star Fox 2 on the SNES Classic or SNES Mini, it's inbuilt!
the official blurb - After his defeat in the original Star Fox, the game's antagonist Andross, returns to the Lylat system and launches an all-out attack against Corneria, using his new fleet of battleships and giant missiles launched from hidden bases to destroy the planet. General Pepper again calls upon the Star Fox team for help. Sounds great! Keep your eyes peeled for Star Fax 2 on the SNES Classic, launching this autumn.
Thanks for watching, and keep on doing a barrel roll!
