StarCraft II - Game Review
5StarCraft II is one of the most legendary games ever made. It is extremely nostalgic for me and I am proud to say I was playing it from day one of it's release after pre-ordering it as a 10 year old.
StarCraft II's primary campaign is Wings of Liberty (WoL) In WoL you fight from the perspective of rebel Jim Raynor and control his Terran forces in rebelling against the tyrant Emperor Mengsk and his Dominion. You also have to worry about the looming threat of the savage alien Zerg creatures. Raynor has a personal connection to Kerrigan, the Queen of Blades, who is being mind controlled in to leading the Zerg to dominate the universe and all life in it.
StarCraft II is a beautifully crafted game which is vastly superior to it's already perfect predecessor in my opinion. The PvE alone in this game is why I love it so much, but competitive players will obviously have even more to look forward to in it's hyper-sweaty ladder system. The universe of StarCraft is very interesting to me and the story and characters are all very well written and memorable. To think an RTS game (Not the most popular / mainstream genre) would receive such a high attention to detail is crazy to me, you are essentially getting multiple movies worth of content all executed at the highest quality possible back when Blizzard was actually making good products.
I'm both happy and sad to say that I've completed WoL entirely on brutal difficulty and unlocked every achievement for it. I'm happy because it was one of the greatest memories of my life and I'm sad because now I won't have a good excuse to jump in and do it all again. I guess we all grow up and we can't remain playing the same games forever. StarCraft II is a flawless masterpiece in every way except some questionable decisions in Legacy of the Void, but I don't hold those against the overall score considering how fantastic WoL & Heart of the Swam were and still are.
StarCraft II is one of the best games ever made. In my opinion it's the best RTS ever made because of how it's incomprehensible high quality and production value
