Starfield has surprised me with how good it is, how it hooked me into its story and various gameplay loops, and how it had taken the concept of "New Game Plus" and elevated it to the next level.
If you look at the individual parts of Starfield, the quests, missions, exploration, space combat, gunplay, crafting and base-building, none of those parts are truly great. They're all good - and bring them together in a package and the game as a whole is great.
What's even more surprising is that a Bethesda title has had a strong release, relatively bug-free, and that it looks like this now will be a flagship Microsoft Xbox Title that should get many years of support and content updates.
Game of the Year. Probably.
Thanks, Rob.
