More in-depth guide to building: https://veterans-gaming.com/wiki/guides/arma3-sog-mike/vg-players/
Arma 3 SOG Prairie Fire Mike Force Game Mode is absolutely amazing, but if you want to step outside the role of rifleman and have a go at building, it can be a little complicated.
In this beginners guide tutorial on how to get started building in Mike Force, I show you that at first you need to be an Engineer Specialist, and it helps to be in the Armored Cavalry faction.
You'll then need a spade in your load-out, an axe (if you want to cut down trees around a FOB to create clear lines of fire) and plenty of sand-bags to use as supplies.
What makes a FOB in Mike Force is the Situation Room being built first - that ties all the other structures together, then you'll want Check Points to allow players to spawn, and a whole load of fortifications.
When you get started you can just follow an existing engineer around - let them place the blueprints for the structures, and you build them with you spade and add supplies from sand bags or supply containers.
Placing blue-prints for buildings is done by press N to get into the building menu, choose your structure, and use your mouse to adjust the position, height and rotation of the structure, swapping between controls with left or right mouse button. When you're happy, hold space bar to build the structure - but remember to finish it off with your spade, and add those supplies!
Thanks, Rob.
