STARGATE Timekeepers | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary
269Today we archive the very first Stargate game on the channel in the form of Stargate Timekeepers. This was just released and offers a stealth gameplay experience that feels a bit retro in the same style as Commandos.
This means you will control a handful of soldiers and have to move them across the battlefield and silently take out enemies while staying out of site. These games are often known for having a high difficulty and relying on trial and error and Timekeepers is no exception. Your characters are very weak when it comes to combat, so the moment you are spotted its almost always game over.
This can result in some frustrating moments and there where multiple points throughout the game where I had to do the same area over and over and over again. But once you figured out how to get past a certain guard or patrol, it all clicks together beautifully and you feel quite accomplished.
It can almost be seen as a puzzle game since very area provides new challenges that you need to navigate without getting into direct conflict.
The coolest mechanic was that you could dress up as some of the higher ranking officers and then freely move throughout certain places. I wish this gameplay mechanic was expanded a bit more.
There were also a few bugs here and there, but overall I had a good time and look forward to how they will improve with their next updates.
