Starsector 0.95a Update! - Let's Play #1 - So Many NEW FEATURES! Contacts! Skill System! New Ships!
2,006With the new Starsector 0.95a update comes a brand new series play through digging into the new features while trying to survive in even more threatening space. The love and dedication shows right away with newly introduced writing and some very interesting character built into story contacts. Also, there are new systems like Story Points and Contacts to work through, meaning you can't just hope for the best by scrounging the black market again and again. I am very excited for the first content release in nearly 2 years, much less the first big content release since I picked up the game. In this video, we skip the tutorial and drop right into Hegemony space. And then we commit some crime. Wait, what?
And yes, unfortunately, this does mark the end of my prior Starsector series. Those videos have already been uploaded and will get posted soon after this video goes up.
Starsector is a game where you get together a squad of spaceships and try to carve your own place out in the stars. Will you turn a profit from trade? Or how about shoot down some pirates to defend a fringe colony? Bounty hunting sound good, or how about becoming a pirate yourself and turning the tables? The galaxy is open to you, just be wary of any AI you might bump into along the way. Although this game is still in Alpha and in deep development, this is one of the greatest games I have ever played and I am very excited it won the viewer's choice selection. The mechanics are deep. The lore is interesting. And once you get your feet wet there are all sorts of mods out there to play with.
As the new update just dropped I am waiting for things to stabilize before enabling any cosmetic mods. This is going to be a vanilla experience through and through.
