Picking the Right Battles - Starsector 0.95a Update - Let's Play #3 - Apogee Start - Viewer's Choice
In my desperation to make early game money in Starsector 0.95a, I ended up taking on too many contracts. What I should have been doing was focusing on what would make me the most money the fastest, but instead I kept accepting contracts that fail on opportunity cost. It's time to make some people unhappy while I try to fill up my bank account with credits. One of the best parts of Starsector is that no two starts end up being the same -- there's always nuances and choices to consider. And with the new updates giving a bevy of new contract options, the choices are wider and more harrowing than ever.
Starsector is a game where you get together a squad of spaceships and try to carve your own place out in the stars. Will you turn a profit from trade? Or how about shoot down some pirates to defend a fringe colony? Bounty hunting sound good, or how about becoming a pirate yourself and turning the tables? The galaxy is open to you, just be wary of any AI you might bump into along the way. Although this game is still in Alpha and in deep development, this is one of the greatest games I have ever played and I am very excited it won the viewer's choice selection. The mechanics are deep. The lore is interesting. And once you get your feet wet there are all sorts of mods out there to play with.
As the new update just dropped I am waiting for things to stabilize before enabling any cosmetic mods. This is going to be a vanilla experience through and through.
