[Steam Next Fest 2023] Slave Zero X Demo
3An upcoming indie prequel to Slave Zero made by Poppy Works and the lead programmer behind Devil Engine, mixing Game Maker with Quake Engine into a hack n' slash in vein of Strider, Guilty Gear and DMC, with some dash of Fill-In-Cafe's Mad Stalker.
The demo was released a little bit earlier, but it is part of Next Fest.
The Quake Engine thing is not a joke, all of the 3d Assets are made inside Trenchbroom, the level editor for Quake mappers, very much giving off that visual style to PSX Mad Stalker, Guardian Heroes and Panzer Bandit.
The demo doesn't exactly explain all the mechanics well, especially the ones bound on the R-Shoulder, it really should've included the training room to teach you about them, tbh.
The combo system also seems to be really strict, trying to get S Ranks will be too difficult for people to get them, even if it will only be bragging rights.
