Stellaris Preview - The Pop System, Leaders, Ethics and a Dynamic Galaxy - Space Grand Strategy
Today's Stellaris preview takes a more consolidated look at Pops, a feature Paradox Interactive has touted about their upcoming Space Grand Strategy game but have not discussed specifically in their dev diaries. There are a number of things that influence Pops, which is a system transplanted from Victoria II. They have their own ethos, but their ethics will drift over the course of the game based on a number of factors (including contact with other empires). Eventually pops can get rowdy and try and cause a ruckus. You could solve their problems. But like other Paradox games, you also have the option to solve the problem: the pop itself.
In this video I talk about what we know and what I have observed from Paradox's play through of the game regarding Pops, Ethics, and to a lesser extent leaders. And yes, I had to go for the joke Victoria 2 picture. I was close to throwing in a Community picture of Magnitude as well, but I held back.
As always, if you want to know more, feel free to ask in the comments.

What is Stellaris: a grand strategy game with 4x elements set in Space developed by Paradox Development Studio and Paradox Interactive. Set for the stars with your newly minted FTL drive and explore a very crowded galaxy. The game truly starts to shine once borders are established and intrigue between space empires begins. Playing a lot more like Europa Universalis IV, you are tasked with managing your empire, maintaining the happiness of diverse populations over your may different planets, researching key technologies along the way, and not pissing off various fallen empires and succumbing to inevitable space disasters. Because the galaxy is dangerous. And not just because of friendship.
