Homemade Sterling Engine

NOTE: This is a device that uses Sterling Cycle and also uses Steam so it's more of a device inspired by a Sterling Engine. A link below shows the video I watched to learn more about how to make this device.

This Engine was based on Strange Steam Engine:

The project was made out of 3 Chili Cans, Fish Aquarium Gravel, Rubber Baloon, Electrical Tape, Nut, Washer, Magnet, Bracket and Adhesives.

It took a long time for the Regenerator Section (Middle Section) to warm up. Also I think there wasn't enough space for air to come from the bottom (Water Heating Section) to allow for proper airflow.

But it was nice to see the Generator able to stay running for a few pulses.

Overall I don't really like using a balloon for the diaphragm section. In one of the takes you can see the generator really pumping and I think that overly stretched the rubber and it didn't really start up consistently after that take.

I think the diaphragm section could be replaced with a piston system.

But this was a great project and I learned a significant amount of information regarding Sterling Engines.

Thanks for watching.
