NOTE AGAIN: Still not a typo or an error, because for some odd reason, the Red Gemstone door in 2-2 leads to 2-7 instead, and this one we're looking for now will take us to 2-6... and, honestly... even with the benefit of hindsight, I can't really figure out why it was done this way. But it was! And I can't change that! So there you go!

I also obviously haven't been very diligent about getting these videos up, having fallen into a bit of a slump following two weekends in a row of House Guest(s) totally derailing my funky flow. Dangit, Mr. Greg!

Strawberry Battlefield
Stage 2-3:

Unlike the previous stage, our incursion into old territory DOES last long enough to get us into a battle, although it's a pretty simple one. Then again, it's the simple ones that make you want to rush your way through and start making some silly mistakes. That said, it's not like there's too much you CAN do to mess things up that badly compared to what we've been seeing in the bonus stages.

Strawberry Battlefield
Stage 2-6:

Fortunately, this stage isn't too much to write home about either, what with only a few actual threatening enemies and fairly low explorational complexity. The real hard part here is trying to decide where to go first and maybe remembering where you HAVE already been versus which directions you haven't been with all these three- or four-way interesections. (There's also no overall in-stage map system, which isn't that big a deal most of the time, but I guess for the most part, the game is simplistic enough in its approach where this isn't usually an issue.)

The truly biggest threat here is one we've seen before, but never quite this beefy... the most basic enemy of the whole area, some grabby little buggy buggers you have to shake off through rapid action... but super-sized! ...and, the damage they can do per hit is no joke, especially if any of those lands critical, and you can't reliably prevent up to two hits AND it's not the kind of attack you can actually block... the greater damage output can be downright lethal if you're not in top shape through what is otherwise no fault of your own. So yeah, don't let that thing hit you. It's no Giant Green Light Garnet, but let's just say it's the second-deadliest foe we've ever faced, surprisingly enough.

To cap it all off, the swag's not even all that great, although one should never really argue against a free Level Up of your choosing. I should probably NOT choose to save it for later, since the experience curve seems pretty gentle throughout the game so far anyway, and a single level can give you a pretty sizable shot in the arm as far as your skills and stats go...

That said... the Iron Boots badge is pretty lame. The only thing that can remove a Gem from battle so far is pretty easily avoided and even rendered a "so what?" kind of handicap if you're smart about it. If anything, it's a safe waste of two turns of that particular enemy's time, especially now that our group is growing more powerful and tactically robust.
