In this chapter, Victoria's investigation leads her to discover the existence of an old nuclear shelter on the premises, but just as she manages to open the hatch, disaster strikes again and the East Coast Killer makes his next, and the most terrible, move so far. As both Paloma and Vic find themselves involuntary guests of the shelter, they eventually manage to connect, pool their efforts, and even find a way outside once again - but it is still rather transparent that most of the time, they are playing precisely the kind of game that the masked murderer wants them to play...
