Hey, guys! So, after the most recent, third season of Stranger Things came out on Netflix in July of 2019, it took the streaming giant just a few months to make a decision on the series’ future. In September, it was officially announced that Stranger Things was renewed for Season 4. Most likely, the new season will be released in October of 2020, because if we look at the release schedule of all previous installments, we will see that it took Netflix 15-16 months to produce each new season. The official tweet, confirming the Season 4 renewal came with a very intriguing tagline “We're not in Hawkins anymore.” While the creative team is keeping mum about the new storyline and the setting, we have just found out that the new episodes are going to be filmed in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, a small country in the Baltic region of Europe. The exact location for production is Lukiškės Prison, which was built in 1905, and after more than a hundred years of continuous service was closed in 2019 due to overcrowding. Incredibly, the prison complex was the most expensive building constructed in the region in the early 20th century. Filming is about to start any day now, as active preparations on location are already underway and installation of equipment has begun.
UPDATED: Due to the worldwide pandemic, filming of Season 4 of Stranger Things at all locations has been halted, which will likely result in delayed premiere.
