The 2022 Oscars are right around the corner and we now have the confirmed hosts. Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall will be headlining the Academy Awards. I'm at a total loss as to why. Granted, they are big names (well, two of the three are) but Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes seem to be a bit passed their big rise to stardom. This would have made more sense like 15 years ago. I think the bigger question is this: Does anyone care about the Oscars anymore? We know viewership drops every single year and celebrities in Hollywood are starting to branch out to other forms of media to stay relevant. I'm not sure Schumer, Sykes and Hall are the golden ticket to drive up attendance this year. Especially with so much other content to watch... like the grass grow.
