While making a little headway with our relationships, we mess up and don't gift Megaera before talking to her. For some reason, this locks us out of the gift option. That kind of sucks. Our next weapon with darker thirst is Stygius and we need to figure out which aspect to use. It turns out that we haven't won a run with the aspect of Poseidon yet, so that is our goal. We decide to level up the aspect and realize that we just spent a whole lot of titan's blood. It is going to take a whole lot more titan's blood than I thought to level everything up.
The aspect of Poseidon seems to base itself primarily around our bloodstones and our casts. Our cast damage is buffed and our special will dislodge any casts stuck in an enemy. So obviously we want to get a good cast that can stick in enemies as early as possible. Well... the game hates me.
Our first god is Demeter. Her cast makes little turrets that slowly aim towards enemies. This won't work since it can't be stuck in the enemy. Hopefully our second god will work.
Well our second god is Dionysus. His cast makes little poison pools on the ground. Strike two. It is around this point that we decide which gods we would like to see. Artemis is a great choice, since she has a boon that hurts enemies once our bloodstones are dislodged. With the aspect of Poseidon, this sounds amazing since we will be dislodging them as soon as we can. Even her cast would be great since it has a chance to crit and hones in on enemies. Since we will be primarily be doing cast damage, this is a great option. When thinking of a cast that sticks into enemies, we are thinking that Poseidon's cast is also a great choice. Since we are using the aspect of Poseidon, it is even fitting.
Who do we get as our third god? Ares. His cast is also a bust since it just throws out little blades that move around. Luckily, we have a different option and can just skip him. However, the game tries it's best to give us Ares. If it wasn't for our ability to change the room reward, we would have been stuck with him.
We do eventually get both Artemis and Poseidon, but there is a different problem. We can't get a cast for the life of us. Artemis isn't even showing up again, and Poseidon won't give up his cast. What is going on this run? We make it all the way to Styx and I am thinking we will never even see a cast this run. Luckily, once we reach Styx we get Artemis and Poseidon as rewards/shop options twice each. Thankfully, near the end of the run, we finally get a cast from Artemis. I can finally use this aspect the way it should be used, and we even get a great duo boon from Artemis and Poseidon, the Mirage Shot. Our build is finally set up and the game goes great from here on out.
