- Normal sudoku rules apply.
- There are cages in the grid, digits can not repeat within cages.
- Black cages are normal killer cages, digits in these cages must sum to the value in the top left corner of the cage.
- Brown cages are hunter cages. Digits placed in hunter cages point to that box in the grid, and the cell in the same position in that box. The digits in the top left corner of a hunter cage must be pointed to by the digits in the cage.

Japanese Sum rules (2 color) apply. Sums are for shaded regions. A sum is black if it contains more than one color, and it's a color if the entire row/column is that color. There must be at least one unshaded cell between cells shaded the same color.

1) Normal Sudoku
Place the digits 1 through 4 once each in every row, column, and box.
2.1) The digits along a heat map thermometer point to "target" digits. These target digits must strictly increase as if they were on the thermometer.
2.2) Target digits are determined as follows:
2.2.1) The number of the digit on the thermo points to the box indicated by that number (i.e. a 3 points to box 3).
2.2.2) The position of the digit in the original box matches the position of the digit in the box which is pointed to (i.e. a 4 in the top right of the original box indicates that the top right digit of box 4 is the target digit (note some digits can point to themselves).
