SUIKODEN II (#3 - Battle for Two River) - Sloth Plays
0Having driven the vampire Neclord from North Window Castle, Riou's army claim it as a new base of operations. But they have no time to celebrate, as Solon Jhee intends to launch an assault on them soon.
Knowing she can't win this battle alone, Apple heads to Radat, to coerce the legendary strategist Shu to help them. Her conviction is then made clear to Shu, who eventually agrees to join them in repelling Jhee's attack.
With Shu at the helm, Highland is driven back yet again, cementing Riou's group as a real military power, capable of fighting against the Imperials. Shortly after their victory, an emissary from the West arrives named Fitcher, who asks that we head to Two River City, and form an alliance with their leader, Lord Granmeyer. Since that means crossing the water, we take a walk over to Kuskus, this time to ask for help from a familiar face -- Tai Ho -- who, once again, will only join if we beat him at dice.
Once we've recruited some more Stars, along with Tai Ho, we head to Lakewest by boat, then head on to Two River. Although initially uncooperative, once the battle starts, the leaders of the various Two River districts realize they must put aside their internal squabbles and unify against Highland's aggression. Granmeyer finally agrees to the alliance, and Riou's group then set their sights on the academic city of Greenhill, hoping to expand the alliance further.
