Super Bomberman 2 was the last of the original 5 Super Bomberman games to be released in the US. Europe was lucky enough to get Super 3, here, but I'm playing the Japanese version of this game since it runs faster than Europe's PAL version.

Now... making the jump from Super 2 to Super 3 feels very awkward. Super 3 scaled back on quite a few things that Super 1 and 2 had, mostly its graphics and overall artstyle. This is to make the game look more like the Bomberman games released on the TurboGrafx-16.

Also, Super 2 had a completely different music composer. Super 3 brings back the one from Super 1, where she remixed a lot of her songs from Super 1 with A LOT more attitude put into them. Super 3 has my favorite Bomberman soundtrack right now because of how she went at this.
--------------

For the story, at the end of Super Bomberman 2, White Bomberman had vanquished the Five Dastardly Bombers after they have previously attempted to kidnap him and take over his world. Bomberman responded by blowing up each Dastard, and sending their gigantic spaceship downward in a pile of rubble. For a time, the world was at peace once again.

But this would not last...

The Five Dastardly Bombers were now lifeless husks in their own wreckage. A mysterious creature in a UFO had appeared one night to take their bodies for his own.

This creature was known as the brilliant and evil Professor Bagura. Using his advanced technology, Bagura repaired and revived the Five Dastardly Bombers, and then reprogrammed them to be under his control. Now working under the mad professor, Magnet Bomber, Golem Bomber, Pretty Bomber, Brain Bomber, and their leader, Plasma Bomber, came back stronger than ever before!

The Five Dastardly Bomber scattered themselves across five different planets. They then stole each planet's Mother Computer Chip, and broke them into different pieces to be sealed away, throwing the planets out of wack and into Bagura's control.

White Bomberman catches wind of this in space, and makes it his mission to restore the five planets back to normal, defeat the Five Dastardly Bombers again, and then eventually confront their new boss.

Also, unlike Super 2, Black Bomberman can join him on his adventure in 2-Player mode.
--------------

In 1-Player mode, clearing a stage is different once again from Super 1 & 2. This time, you have to destroy all of the flashing capsule towers in each level. This will open up the main capsule containing a piece of the Computer Chip you're trying to repair for each world.

Nonetheless, a lot of weird baddies and monsters will try to stop you from doing this. So do what Bomberman does best and blow them up with your bombs!

There will also be some eggs to find in Soft Blocks. These eggs contain Roois, or Louies. They come in several colors and each of them have their own special abilities to go with them. I'm trying to look for a Green Louie, because he can dash in a straight line. Instead, I got Brown (Line Bomb) and Yellow (Soft Block Kick), but I will get Green later.

The first world is called Swamp Attack, and it's taken over by Magnet Bomber.
--------------

1-1
- Enemies: 2 Plant Men, 2 Lizard Men
- Power-Ups: 2 Bomb Ups, 2 Fires, Roller Skates, Louie Egg

1-2
- Enemies: 2 Trents, 1 Gueru, 2 Plant Men
- Power-Ups: Bomb Up, Fire, Bomb Kick, Ice Cream (Bonus Points)

The invincibility you get at the start of a stage returns from Super 1. It doesn't last as long, but with the right setup, you can make it work for that tiny amount of time. I'll show that off later.
