Super Mario Bros. 2 - 5-1 is an All in an Inch Level, and Luigi is totally not broken
People like the Hyphy Movement, the Uni-Mind including trolls, the San Francisco Bay Area residents who prove that it doesn't deserve to be called the "Yay Area", the shallow girls who would say "wanna suck my pee" just to mock me, and the Oakland rioters think that 5-1 in Super Mario Bros. 2 is just a case of That One Level. I think it's simply a case of being a new trope: All in an Inch Level.

All in an Inch Levels are levels that are short but have higher difficulty. 6-2 in SMB2 is in the very same boat, and so are the Cantyon and Entrance to Subspace in Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Subspace Emissary. These levels can actually be good or bad, but are incredibly easy to make bad, moreso than Escort Missions.
Rest assured that I do agree on 5-3. Bob-Ombs are Demonic Spiders in SMB2, which is amazing because they don't even explode on contact. (I'm looking at you, SSB.) There's a reason why they got toned down in later Mario games in general to be slower.
But as it turns out, Luigi laughs at 5-1 in general. Oh sure, he has bad traction, but a little thing called shorthopping helps him make what few necessary jumps he needs, and he doesn't need many, because his jumping distance is ridiculous, especially because of how floaty he is. Of course, pretty much ANY character can beat the level in less than 90 seconds, but this level nevertheless proves that Luigi is broken, since he can minimize the amount of jumps that have fatal punishment in the first place. Not to mention deal with the Guide Dang It Mushroom without a squat jump.
(Ironically, I'm up for arguing Mario as the worst character for the level, but he does at least jump further than Toad. Of course, Toad's good traction keeps him alive either way.)
