Super Mario RPG (switch remake) playthrough, part 19: How do you like me now, "Culex 3D"?!
0This guy here, ya'll. Culex 3D. After I finally find a winning combination and take him down, he still mentions that it took me 29 tries to beat him.
STILL. HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW CULEX, HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT? GO BACK THROUGH YOUR PORTAL, DUDE. IT'S OVER.
Anyway, yeah. Best thing to do here is try and stay calm throughout the battle. It's more of an endurance race. Keeping party members alive, equipping the right items on each character (especially Lazy Shell and Safety RIng on Peach - trust me on this).
I'm glad to be done with this battle. There are a few things I missed in this playthrough. For one, the Super Suit one gets from 100 jumps. I have a nervous tick due to traumatic experiences in the past few years. I just can't maintain a rhythm for very long anymore - My right hand will literally freeze up on me every half minute or so, so I think it's actually physically impossible for me right now (I may find a workaround in the future). I have heard that using a wire controller and headphones helps - and they do, but due to that condition I will leave it to the others. It's unfortunate, because I used to get 100 jumps effortlessly in the SNES version, but things change.
I also forgot Bowser's Drill Claw, which is behind one of the doors in Bowser's Keep. I might go through there again and fight Smithy and crew one more time after this, so we may go back for that.
