Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Jul 18 09 A
Well! This is the first time that I'm slow by two days after the date that I recorded the video. Happy 40th anniversary of Apollo 11's moon landing. A lot of people got color TVs just to watch it, and ironically, the transmission was in black-and-white anyway. (But the photos were in color!)
I'm not going to argue over whether or not it was a hoax though. Its purpose was to one-up and humiliate the Soviets during the Cold War, and it succeeded.
Match #1
Shadow Moses Island
Ganondorf
Hmm...It looks like I sometimes put the stage first, and I sometimes put the character first. Ah well. I don't care. Anyway, you'll be seeing four matches here, all of them versus Azurekate from YouTube. It seems she had nothing to do that night, and I happened to be online in SSBB's waiting room...waiting for someone else. I see that this is a 3-Stock match with no time limit, which is rarely good for uploading since they could potentially go over the YouTube time limit. I can split a Pokémon match, but SSBB matches have a tempo I just can't bear to cut up. Anyway, Ganondorf isn't very compatible with my playing style. He does everything slowly and is bad at jumping whereas I prefer to dart around. He's so slow, I fell victim to a well-timed Rest, which is probably something you don't see very often.
Match #2
Pirate Ship
Mr. Game & Watch
I had forgotten about Oil Panic much of the time Samus was peppering me with projectiles, and when I did remember it, it wound up being way too slow to block them. So I just got out of their way in classic video game fashion. Samus probably has a pretty substantial disadvantage against Mr. Game & Watch: Lower knockback, worse range (except projectiles), and slower running speed. One thing that I do that annoys myself happens here: Using the "Wear a helmet!" taunt against a character who's already wearing a helmet.
Match #3
Green Greens
Falco
Pressing both the 1 and 2 button at the same time is hard for me when I'm holding the Wii Remote vertically, so I rarely begin with the DDR or Naruto taunt. She plays a mean Olimar, though I'd suspect that with the strong winds pushing people off the sides, Falco struggles in a stage like Green Greens from his fast falling speed. If he gets pushed off while doing an attack, he needs the third jump to get back onto the stage. During Sudden Death, I tried a gamble that didn't pay off.
Match #4
Mario Bros.
Lucas
Lucas is normally one of my best characters, but all that means squat in a stage like Mario Bros., where you're given an infinite array of very powerful things to throw and you have very low ceilings blocking escape. I normally claim victory by superior knowledge of this stage compared to other people, who most often just get to fighting as normal. Against someone who knows what needs to be done in Mario Bros., I stand no chance.
