I use Charizard to go through All-Star, and as a heavyweight character, Charizard can make use of the decreased damage and knockback received from opponents, and while Flare Blitz is powerful, it does deal damage to Charizard when used, you do have to watch out for stage hazards. You deal increased damage to your opponents, and Charizard's Rock Smash can be good for getting in damage, and then using a smash attack to KO opponents, as Charizard does have some powerful smash attacks for All-Star Mode.
As with Charizard's Alt. Trophies, in the 3DS version, it uses its 6th alternate costume, that is the white costume, and in the Wii U version, it uses its green costume, that is its third alternate costume.
I will go over All-Star Mode and which characters you fight against.
Round 1 (2015-2007): Corrin, Greninja, Lucina, Robin, Dark Pit, Shulk, Bayonetta, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina & Luma
Round 2 (2006-2001): Lucario, Lucas, Ike, Zero Suit Samus, Toon Link, Bowser Jr., Roy, Olimar, Villager
Round 3 (1998-1994): Ganondorf, Sheik, Cloud, Jigglypuff, Charizard, Pikachu, Mewtwo, Diddy Kong, Ness
Round 4 (1993-1991): Meta Knight, Falco, Fox, Wario, King Dedede, Kirby, Sonic
Round 5 (1990-1986): Captain Falcon, Yoshi, Dr. Mario, Marth, Mega Man, Ryu, Palutena, Pit
Round 6 (1986-1984): Samus, Zelda, Link, Bowser, Peach, R.O.B., Duck Hunt Duo
Round 7 (1984-1980): Little Mac, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Mario, Pac-Man, Mr. Game & Watch

Second Pokémon character in a row, and also made its debut in 1998-1994, but the next Pokémon character on the roster didn't debut around them, the character after that does. The following stages you fight Charizard and other characters that debuted in 1998-1994 in the 3DS version are Spirit Train, Unova Pokémon League, Magicant, and Midgar, and in the Wii U version, the stages are Kongo Jungle 64, Bridge of Eldin, Pokémon Stadium 2, Onett, and Midgar.
Charizard's Final Smash Trophy is called Mega Evolution (Charizard), on the Smash Wiki, it is called Mega Charizard X, and like with other Final Smash moves that are transformations, it does shorten when Charizard takes damage while as Mega Charizard X, it does take half the normal damage and does gain super armour during them, and its Fire Blast and Dragon Rush can KO at higher percentages, they can be good for getting in damage and launch foes with those moves.
