In this video for Classic Mode, I play as Link, and how that will be handled is that I randomize my list to pick which character I want to play as next, but the playlist will be sorted by roster order. I will be going through every character's Classic Mode route, even though I did play them back when the game first released.
Link's Classic Mode Route is A Quest to Seal the Darkness, so all of Link's opponents are characters that are affiliated with darkness, because in The Legend of Zelda series, Link's quest is to stop the darkness from affecting Hyrule.
In Round 1, Link's opponent is Dark Pit, who is fought on Reset Bomb Forest, then in Round 2, he fights a Giant Ridley on Norfair, then Round 3, he fights Bayonetta on Umbra Clock Tower, then in Round 4, his opponent is Dark Samus on Frigate Orpheon.
In Round 5, Link's opponent is Ganondorf, who is fought on Gerudo Valley, and he teams up with Zelda as a CPU ally, and items do not appear in this battle. In Round 6, you fight Dark Link, well it's technically another Link, but the Dark Link costume is used for that fight, and it is on Temple. If you are playing as the Dark Link alternate costume, you would instead fight the default Link in this battle.
Then the Bonus Stage is next, and after that, Link fights his own boss fight, it is against Ganon, the main antagonist of the Legend of Zelda series. To fight Ganon, his tail is his weak point, and there is a chance you can stun Ganon, so you can deal more damage to him, and only his tail can be attacked. I would say that Ganon is the hardest boss out of all of the bosses in this game, because it can be really tricky to try and get to his tail, as he turns around quite a lot.
After that, the credits play, and the music is the Title Theme from The Legend of Zelda, which was remixed in Brawl, and you then earn the Fighter Spirit for Link, which uses his artwork from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
As Link is one of the starting characters on the roster, he has an unlock tree, so Link has his set of characters if you complete Classic Mode with him or any characters in his unlock tree, so in this case, when you complete Classic Mode with Link, the following characters you would unlock are King K. Rool, Ice Climbers, Simon, Meta Knight, Snake, Young Link, Richter, and Toon Link, and once all of the characters in Link's unlock tree are unlocked, it will then go back to Mario's unlock tree if you complete Classic Mode with Link or anyone else in his unlock tree.
