Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Online Tourney: Fighters of Many Faces
1It is time for another Online Tourney, and this one is a tie-in with the recent DLC update that included Pyra and Mythra as the new DLC characters, this one is known as Fighters of Many Faces. The theme for this Online Tourney is characters that have alternate costumes where they are either a different model or costume, or a different character entirely, and there are a lot of characters for this one.
Here are the following characters that can be selected for this Tourney:
Mario, Link, Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Ice Climbers, Pichu, Young Link, Meta Knight, Zero Suit Samus, Wario, Ike, Pokémon Trainer, Sonic, Olimar, Toon Link, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Little Mac, Pac-Man, Robin, Shulk, Bowser Jr., Cloud, Corrin, Bayonetta, Inkling, Ridley, Isabelle, Joker, Hero, Byleth, Steve, Sephiroth, Pyra/Mythra, Mii Brawler, Mii Swordfighter, Mii Gunner
Some of the characters on the roster have alternate characters where they have a different name, one example is Olimar, where Alph is an alternate character, Bowser Jr. has the Koopalings, and Steve has Alex, Zombie, and Enderman. Even though Young Link and Toon Link do not have alternate costumes where they are completely different, the reason why they can be entered is because of the Dark Link alternate costume, and Ice Climbers is because there are some alternate costumes where you can control Nana, while Popo is the partner Ice Climber.
This Online Tourney is a time battle with 2 minutes and 30 seconds, Final Smash Meter is turned on, and items are set to Medium, and participating in this Tourney will reward you with a Spirit.
With a lot of characters on the roster for this Online Tourney, I decided to go with Byleth for this one, as I do want to try and use as many characters as I can for each Online Tourney, so I chose Byleth. I entered this Online Tourney so many times to try and have at least one player using Pyra or Mythra, as this Online Tourney does tie in with the release of the DLC update, and I kept trying until I could have at least one player using them, and I did come across a bunch of opponents using characters like Wario, Robin, Pokémon Trainer, Little Mac, Bayonetta, and there was one Online Tourney where my starting bracket had all players using Corrin, and out of all the attempts, this is the only one where I come across another player using Byleth other than me.
The stages for this Online Tourney were Green Hill Zone and Castle Siege, and in my first two attempts, Frigate Orpheon was the first stage both times, and in one other attempt, Castle Siege was the last stage picked. I don't mind Online Tourney mode, and I do like these special events they have, specially when they tie in with a character recently added into the game.
