Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis #36 - ENDING A, The Netherworld & Shaher Final Boss Battle
1Shaher pulls the party straight into the Netherworld and reveals his true form, the Sacred Demon. He’s now the embodiment of evil, using bane powers and spreading darkness with his black wings. He roots himself in a corner and never moves, so it’s up to the party to push through and bring him down. New enemies appear here too: Dark Stalkers, who are like evil ninjas but go down quickly, and Hell Gigantes, evil giants that take more effort but don’t really matter much besides slowing you down. His ability Descent can also summon Predators, and while they’re not too dangerous, they do carry Brionac spears that can cause instant death.
Shaher has 4 abilities he uses this time. Day of Reckoning hits everyone with status effects unless shields or accesorry that gives immunity are equipped, making it useless if you prepare right. Apocalypse targets just one ally with a strong dark spell, painful but easy to heal. Cataclysm deals damage to the entire field and even hits his own side, so it can actually help you out. Descent now summons up to four allies at once and they move immediately, which keeps pressure on. Finally, there’s Shear, a nasty close-range swipe that doesn’t even count as his turn. Avoid standing right next to.
He can’t be harmed at all until he’s struck with the Longicolnis spear, which shatters his barrier and lets regular attacks work. Once that’s done, it’s just a matter of surviving his skills, cutting down his summons, and dealing damage until he finally defeated.
After the credits roll, you’ll see the ending you earned depending on the choices made earlier. To get the Ending A: Choose to go with Cybil's plan and stick to Path A. Make sure Eleanor joins the team when the chance comes up, then keep her in the party for both of the last battles and defeat Shaher.
