Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis #48 - Return to Vespa Hills [Path B] - (No Commentary)
1When you reach Vespa Hills, a mercenary beast master tries to stop you, likely hired by Rananculus or maybe Rictor. He comes with several beasts, making this fight tougher than it first appears. The Cerberus can breathe fire in a T-shaped area, dealing damage and may inflict sleep. Cockatrices are especially dangerous because their breath can petrify multiple characters at once, which basically removes them from the fight unless you cure it. Griffins also cause trouble with long-range attacks that hit more than one target.
To handle this battle, focus on taking out the Cockatrices before they gather enough SP to use their petrifying breath. The hellhounds should also be dealt with quickly, since their sleep effect can prolong the battle. The beast master and griffins are less of a threat as they mostly deal regular damage. Bringing a cleric or fairy with the right skills to cure status effects makes things much easier. Once you have a way to heal and cleanse, the fight becomes manageable and you can push through without too much trouble.
