Takarajima (宝島) 8 Bit Remix - THE SQUARE

so this is not a vidya game remix, if you haven't put that together by now. tis instead one of the most well known tracks by the jazz fusion band t-square or the square - it doesn't really matter which you say.
anyways takarajima is one of my favorite pieces of music ever written. the most well known version of this song is an arrangement for brass bands which, along with 'omens of love', also by the square, has become a very well known brass band preformance piece primarily in japan but also around the world to some capacity.
i couldn't finish this whole thing in time so it just cuts off mid-way through the last solo i'm sorry my son
i had a lot of fun trying to replicate the sound of the electronic wind instrument by editing waveforms and such. i think i got it somewhat close to the version heard on the album 's.p.o.r.t.s' but if jummbox had just a little bit more flexable and customizable envelope generation i could have probably made it sound even closer. by the way, does anyone know if/how one could exceed 320 bpm in jummbox? that probably sounds absurdly fast but i transcribe stuff at double the original song's bpm as to give myself more space in the tiny little jummbox interface. for example, takarajima is played at about 120 bpm. transcribing that into jummbox feels sluggish and slow, so doubling to 240 (this remix was actually done at 250, little faster than the original) makes the process a hell of a lot more enjoyable for me. for famitracker users, think of it as tracking stuff at speed 1, or something. i don't think many actual famitracker users watch my videos considering a lot of 'em are purists who think using anything besides LE HECKING CONSOLE CHIPS is heresy. if you use famitracker and still choose to put up with my stuff every week then i love you but not in a homosexual way because im not gay
