Take 2! Undefined Fantastic Object • Art+Music
(Apologies for the blinking during coloring sections of the video, it's a problem with Krita's built-in recording feature.)
This is probably weird to see! The same artwork, again?? Well, I've been thinking some things about all this YouTube/timelapse business I'm experimenting with, and I'm realizing the previous iteration of this timelapse might've been EXCRUCIATINGLY boring to sit through. In an effort to make something people will actually enjoy watching, I've sped up the timelapse a TON. How is it this time??
Here's the description from the original timelapse:
~
4 days. Too many hours. 80 layers. 21,479 frames captured by Krita. A total of 16 GIGABYTES WORTH OF JUST TIMELAPSE FRAMES. This was hard, and long, and there are parts of this process that were rough and parts where I got pissed off at my exhaustion and pissed off at Krita and pissed off at everything. But the end result...was ABSOLUTELY worth it.
This is the biggest thing I've ever drawn so far, and I made it for what is likely the most beautiful installment of the Touhou series, with an IMPECCABLE soundtrack and a GORGEOUS, SUPER-creative premise. GO PLAY TOUHOU!!! 😆 😆 😆 ☯ ️ ☯ ️ ☯ ️

Citing my sources (sort of):
The background track is "At the End of Spring", a track from the game Touhou 12: Undefined Fantastic Object, which plays during the fifth stage of the game as well as under the Music Room menu.
Touhou is a vertical-scrolling bullet-curtain shooter made by the doujin circle Team Shanghai Alice, and the game, characters, and music belong to that circle.
