Taking a Look at XODE - The Cancelled Xbox 360 DVD Drive Emulator from Team Xecuter
926In March 2014 Team Xecuter announced the XODE project to the world, described by them as "the next generation of ODE design." This was to be an improvement over existing ODE solutions for the Xbox 360 such as the X360DOCK, Wasabi 360, and of course the famous x360Key. This optical drive emulator was designed to replace the DVD drive in a console and allow the end-user to play their Xbox 360 game backups in ISO format directly from a hard drive.
XODE was to support 2.5" and 3.5" hard drives, had the ability to choose your games over WiFi, and presumably even more features! Sadly a lot of the information ends there as the XODE project was put on hold and officially announced as cancelled in September 2014. Despite this product never releasing to the public, I wanted to take a closer look at what we know of the XODE.
