It took me a good little minute to realize how to deal with this form of Hyades. The main problem is that he tends to counter getting knocked down with Ground Shake...and he got knocked down more often than I thought because Spiral Attack causes a crumble state for some enemies. Ground Shake causes Weak, also known as the worst damn status effect in the series, and I was under the impression there was no way around it until I remembered Poison Charms protect against both Poison and Weak. That's a necessity for everyone, since he's bound to attack the casters any chance he gets.

Like the craymels, he also has some nasty spells like Ground Dasher and Bloody Howl(ing), which really disrupt formations and give him a lot of time to act. Fortunately he falls to the same issue that his second form had in that he is easy to gangbang in the corner. Aqua Spiral's ridiculous damage output makes this end much more quickly.

I'd say this fight is a good representation of how to approach this game overall. The "Aggressive-LMBS" really is built for you to stay on the enemy instead of trying to figure out a different approach. After playing through this game again it's plain to see that it's pretty fair to both sides of a battle. Disparity in Accuracy/Evasion can be overcome with spells, and the one high tier spell rule bolsters the need for pouncing on the enemy. The rules stay pretty much intact, with the exception of the last few/hardest bosses in the game.

Also, "Great Battle 1" ftw, one of my favorite Tales tunes.
